The short version

Your location

Your location, or a place you choose, is used to find nearby places and the weather, then discarded. Weather providers only ever see an approximate position. If you search for a place by name, what you type is sent to a place-search service.

Picks

Filing a pick is optional. When you do, we store the activity, the date, a town-sized area and its name, and anonymous identifiers that can't be traced back to you, used to keep your picks together and to prevent abuse. Others who have picked see how many people chose each activity nearby, never who. Changing your location deletes that day's picks, and clearing your cookies breaks the link to the rest for good.

On your device

Your settings and past picks stay on your device and aren't sent to us. Clearing site data, or deleting the app, removes them.

Logs

We keep short-lived logs of how the service is performing and the country requests come from, and hourly totals of requests by country for 90 days. They don't include your IP address, location, searches or cookies.

Who else is involved

Children

FairDay isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect anything from them. Then again, we don't collect anything that identifies anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
